We Need Perfecting for the Building Up of the Church, V.S.

I was in the Full-Time Training in Anaheim for two years. The goal of the training is not to make us somebody like a so-called pastor, but to perfect us to be the functioning members of the body of Christ. In Ephesians 4:8-11, it mentions that the Lord gave some gifts to the Body such as apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds, and teachers. According to Ephesians 4:12, these gifts of the Body are for the “perfecting of the saints unto the work of the ministry unto the building up of the Body of Christ.” The gifts perfect the saints, the believers, so the believers themselves can do the direct building up of the Body of Christ.

Before I came to the training, I was a silent Christian. According to 1 Corinthians chapter 14, it is by our speaking of the word of God from the Bible that we can build up the church. The training has helped me to function more in speaking. This speaking function is not for my personal achievements but to make me a functioning member of the Body of Christ, speaking the Son's word to men.
